Designing the ideal lab to meet the needs of everyone on your team can be difficult, and a key factor is getting the right casework from the outset. One of the biggest names in the market today is Campbell Rhea, and for good reason. With lots of options available, you’ll get the functionality you need combined with the look you want.

Workspace Choices

Campbell-Rhea-Laboratory-caseworkAs you explore what your ideal workspace might look like, here are a few you may want to consider.

  • Vertex Table: Constructed of powder coated 14-gauge steel tubing, this is perfect in a lab that doubles as a teaching environment. It comes with optional casters, and modesty panels that help to enclose the lift mechanism. Maximum lift capacity here is 500 pounds, and it’s adjustable between 30” and 41”, making it ADA compliant. It comes with four bag hooks, a rod storage area, and an electric outlet and data port raceway.
  • Magnetar: This fully adjustable work center is great for lab or lecture functioning. It offers counter space for four as well as computer access. The work center station has a rotating monitor enclosure. It also comes with a metal storage cabinet with a pull out shelf that’s ideal for the CPU and a printer. The worktop can be adjusted from 30” to 36” while the sink cabinet sits at 34” and comes with cold water and gas fixtures, electrical receptacles, and a drop in sink.
  • Quantum Command Center: This is the ultimate workspace, as it’s as practical and functional as it is convenient. It’s also packed with storage. It has two double-faced storage cupboards that are accessible from both sides. The standard cupboards come with adjustable shelves and the end cabinets have bottom-mounted pullouts. The two end cabinets can be fitted with a variety of shelving options, including a lazy susan. The knee space has a keyboard pullout shelf, and you’ll find pop-up data ports and electrical outlets across the countertop.

Choosing Your Work Surface

While there are a variety of different work surfaces available too, one of the most popular new choices is granite. A good choice in residential settings for years because of its durability, it also works well in the lab setting. It’s resistant to acids and chemicals, and it’s almost impossible to scratch. What’s more, though, is that it won’t stain or blemish the way other materials do. It doesn’t burn or melt in the event of high temperatures and it won’t harbor bacteria or radon. It’s even available in different colors to help match your current casework.

Selecting the ideal casework for your lab means a beautiful work space that everyone can enjoy. Find the perfect pieces before you make your decision.

Contemporary healthcare facilities are facing mounting challenges every day. From an increasing number of patients to new government regulations, it may seem like there are times when nothing is quite right. The ideal space, though, can not only define how patients feel about your facility, but also how you feel about it. Customized casework can help with a variety of different options.

Flexibility is a must in almost any setting today. What may be a storage space one day could easily need to be a waiting room the next day. The right casework company can help. With thousands of components to help create an environment that will fit your needs from day to day, you’ll find the mobility you need to stay productive.

Durable Choices

In almost any setting, durability is a factor. Nowhere is this more true than in the world of healthcare. From the speed at which you must move to the fact that team members and patients are likely to be fairly hard on your casework solutions, you want something that can deal with at least a little abuse day after day and still look amazing no matter who walks through the door.

Antimicrobial Surfaces

While the need for flexibility and durability in casework is true in a lot of industries, the need to protect patients and team members from the potential of infection is fairly unique to healthcare. At Carroll Seating, we offer three different kinds of antimicrobial surfaces on all of our casework options to help make certain everyone who enters your facility is carefully protected.

Whether you’re looking for a stainless steel solution or something warmer like veneer or wood, Carroll Seating is the way to go as you search for the right healthcare casework to meet the needs of your facility. Contact us today for more information.

Laboratory casework is typically about more than simply selecting the right cabinets, counter tops, and drawer units that will look great in the lab. Instead, it’s about finding a balance between the world of aesthetics and that of functionality. If you’re considering new casework for your lab, here are a few factors you may want to add into the equation. New Lab Design

  • Is It An Open or Closed Lab? The casework you can choose can often make the difference in how well your lab actually functions. Open labs tend to be more social, encouraging innovation and interaction among staff members, which could be key in ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner. Closed labs, though, are certainly still necessary in many settings. For example, if you’re working with certain equipment or some kinds of research, the last thing you want is an open lab. You need dedicated spacing for safety, and possibly privacy, reasons.
  • How Flexible Does Your Space Need to Be? If your lab frequently changes direction, projects, or even staff, you want to maintain maximum flexibility, and while making certain that a solid portion of the lab is dedicated to equipment space can help, the right casework can too. If a new team will be coming into the lab, they’ll know exactly what’s needed for the work, and the right casework can help get the new project up and running much sooner.
  • Is Budget A Factor? As simple as it may seem, for many labs these days, the budget is a real concern, so be sure to take a close look at all of your available options. From painted steel choices to the durable phenolic resin, there are so many different choices, and while all of them have both benefits and drawbacks, you’re certain to find one that meets your needs and your budget.

If you’re shopping for laboratory casework, look no further than Carroll Seating Company. With lots of options and customizable choices to help furnish your lab, we’re the only solution you’ll ever need.

With new buildings or even redesigns, it’s often the little things that make a difference. Paint colors, for example, instead of a dry, matte white finish could make an office look more inviting, helping to propel your business forward. Specialty millwork, too, can serve the same purpose. custom casework, Carroll Seating

Understanding Customized Millwork
From creative doors to great baseboards and crown molding, specialty and custom millwork provides those special little touches you just can’t get with off-the-shelf solutions. It helps to bring together the whole picture of your office, tying in the right design themes that will help put your customers at ease again and again. Think the millwork details don’t matter? Think again. Consider an unfinished room for a moment. It likely feels incomplete. Now add in the right millwork components. Even if you have the same drab white walls, you have a far more complete look, helping you get more done every day.

Carroll Seating Company has been providing specialty millwork solutions for decades. More than just a company that designs seating solutions, we can create the ideal look in almost any setting. We’ve worked in schools, libraries, hospitals, and lots of offices in the past. Our work has been featured in offices of some of the biggest brands in the nation, and we would be proud to feature it in your office as well.

From start to finish, we provide turnkey solutions to help meet your needs and your budget. We can help with the initial planning phase and recommend the right products for every job. We know you want the highest level of satisfaction at the right price, and we’re committed to meeting your needs.

Excellence defines Carroll Seating Company, so as you look for a custom millwork provider, please keep us in mind.

Public libraries are unlike any other spaces on the planet. They’re not even really like other libraries. College libraries serve only the needs of university students and academics. School libraries are specifically designed for kids of various ages. Specialty libraries are often dedicated just to experts.

Public libraries, though, have to meet the needs of the many. From great reading areas for kids to help entice them in day after day to careful spaces constructed for elderly patrons, public libraries need special attention when it comes to design, so we’re nothing short of proud to put our name on the design work of the Alsip Marionette Park Library

A Year in the Making
Some design projects take just a few months. Others, like this one, take quite a bit more work. We got started in January of 2012. After preliminary designs, pricing, and all of the details that go into any of our projects, we were finally able to install some of our Brodart Contract Furniture line in February of 2013. All of it was custom made for the library.

In the adult sections, we were able to design double faced computer carrels to save space as well as individual study carrels with pop up power and data for those using laptops. We also integrated new reading tables, study tables in the study room, double sided book displays, and custom OPAC stations as well as dictionary and atlas stands.

In the children’s area, we designed square and round tables at heights that worked for both children and adolescents. We also created half-moon computer stations with velcroable front panels for reading fun. Additionally, we added a customized children’s puzzle table among other things.

This project really demonstrates how far we’ve branched out from the idea of seating. We wanted to be part of this from the start. With us, you know you’re never going to have to flip open a catalog, point to what you want, and have us assemble it. Instead, we invest ourselves in delivering exactly what you’re looking for, and we succeed with quality and precision.

College dorm designs are becoming increasingly complex. While it was once enough to simply have a standard room with two beds and two desks as well as a bathroom on every floor, these days, colleges have to create a very different home away from home for those students who choose to live on campus. We were recently asked to work on the first new dorm in 40 years at Northern Illinois University, and our innovation and creativity made the project nothing short of success.

One-Thousand Units and Counting
The project itself was quite varied. With 1,000 different units in the complex as well as common spaces and a sizable community center that included a food court, recreation facility, and a lounge, creating a number of different challenges to overcome. Durability was a must in a college setting, as was the custom casework that would be necessary to give the residents the right level of space throughout the units while making everything look amazing at the same time. Our results were fantastic.

In the 80 cluster kitchens inside the complex, we installed the casework necessary to make them functional thanks to Case Systems Inc. Throughout the full 1000 units inside, we installed closet shelving and rods as well as solid surface tops and sinks. We also created an amazing look at the security desk thanks to the custom wood veneer panels. We installed a custom wood veneer mail counter to help make certain students had the mail facilities they needed, and in the food court, we created a custom checkout station to make certain students could get in and out with ease.

Diversity Means Everything
As a company, we’ve met many challenges in the past, but few quite like this one. It was a unique opportunity to step things up to the next level, and everyone loves the results, particularly the students who now call that building home.

With a name like Ace, you can be sure almost everyone knows what you’re talking about. Created in 1924, the branding strategy this company has employed has made it a household name for decades. We were nothing short of honored when Ace came to us to work on their corporate headquarters. The goal was to create a new look for their lobby, a common area, and an essential conference room. The results were pretty impressive, even to us.

Serious Design Needs, Serious Results
With a company as large as Ace, aesthetics needed to be at the forefront of everything we did, particularly given that much of our work would be on display on a daily basis to a variety of different visitors. Nothing we did within this project could be business as usual. You simply don’t get a job like the Ace Hardware headquarters without already being the best of the best.

To meet their needs, we used a mix of custom millwork applications, employing both acrylics and poly resin panels for a finished look that you just can’t get with other materials. The goal here was that high end architectural finish that really demonstrated our skills as a millwork provider, and we certainly met that goal.

Promoting the brand was also important to Ace in all of the areas where we worked, so we added new signs to help boost the company’s name. Getting that logo above any real traffic area was a must, so we used 3FORM, high design image captures with acrylic feature panels to help push the brand out into the open while still staying with the current atmosphere.

The chance to work with Ace was unique, and we’re proud to have been part of the project. Our millwork skills are second to none, and a quick visit to the Ace lobby will show you nothing less than perfection.
